Somerset, NJ – The Global Directory of Who’s Who proudly recognizes Huma Ansari, MD, FAPA, founder of Mind Matters Psychiatry, for her dedication to advancing compassionate psychiatric care and serving diverse patient populations throughout New Jersey. As the founder and sole owner of her private practice, Dr. Ansari specializes in general psychiatry, treating adolescents ages 14 and older as well as adults. With approximately 19 years of experience in the medical field, including four years in private practice, she has built a reputation for providing patient-centered mental health services with a focus on chronic psychiatric conditions and underserved, low-income communities. Dr. Ansari completed her residency at Mount Sinai Queens after earning her medical degree in India. Throughout her career, she has balanced clinical excellence with leadership and education, dedicating approximately 70 percent of her time to direct patient care and another 30 percent to administrative responsibilities within her practice. In addition to her work at Mind Matters Psychiatry, she collaborates with the Somerset County PACT Team to support individuals with chronic psychiatric conditions. Passionate about mentoring the next generation of healthcare professionals, Dr. Ansari also volunteers as an instructor at Rutgers Medical School and serves as a volunteer preceptor for nurse practitioner students. Her commitment to education and leadership earned her the Teacher Recognition Award from the Rutgers Medical School Class of 2022, as well as a Certificate of Recognition from Monmouth Medical University for her volunteer preceptor work. During her residency, she was also honored as Chief Resident. An active member of the American Medical Association (AMA), American Psychiatric Association (APA), and the New Jersey Psychiatric Association, Dr. Ansari additionally serves on the executive committee of her Indian Medical School Alumni Association (AMAANA). Looking ahead, she plans to expand Mind Matters Psychiatry into neighboring states while introducing additional services under the practice umbrella to better meet the growing demand for accessible mental healthcare. Through her dedication to patient advocacy, education, and community-focused psychiatric care, Dr. Ansari continues to make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals and families seeking compassionate mental health support.
